Hardy’s New Zephrus Rods and Blog News
Hardy’s New Rods and Blog News…….
It’s an honor to be part of Hardy’s Pro Team and it gives me the opportunity to mix with some of the best in the business as well the chance to fish with rods which I honestly believe to be the best there are. We have a selection in the shop as well as their new reels and it’s a revelation to cast one of the rods for the first time. Always fun when a customer tries out a few rods outside the shop and the look on their face when using a Zephrus is a real pleasure for an instructor like me.
I now have an additional site, petercockwill.com which has details of the trips I organise and the casting lessons and corporate days I can do. It will also have my fishing news and this site, the shop, will relate more to the business itself and the gear we stock.
Currently in early season we are looking to have enough stock of flies and consumables and a range of rods/reels/lines for everything from beginner to ace. I won’t skimp on fly lines as there’s little point in having an inexpensive rod reel combo and then a cheap line as it’s the most awful way to start fly fishing. A Shakespeare Sigma 9′ #6 with a simple Leeda reel loaded with a Wychwood line and then net, priest, leader flies and snips can all be done for around £115. Book me for an hours lesson and that’s it, you are away.
Currently we have excellent stocks of Drennan’s Double Strength on a great offer of three spools for the price of 2.
Plenty of the ever deadly Blue Flash Damsel in olive or black and sizes 10 and 12 plus around a thousand other fly patterns.
I am personally away from the shop until the 6th February with a group of guests down to southern Argentina but as ever we are open 9 – 5 and also 10 – 2 on Sundays.
